A Scientology leader has praised the following in Ireland, claiming they are behind an "an 85% drop in drug-related crime".
Speaking during a New Year's message to Scientologists, leader David Miscavige said the "Irish mission" is successful, while also calling Ireland a "land of both enduring beauty and beautiful sadness".
Seven minutes into the below video, Mr Miscavige said a lot of work was being done to spread the word about Scientology in Ireland.
"Where this mission of Dublin begins to assume a distinctly Irish profile is with a grassroots campaign to meet the [late Scientology founder and science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard] target by capturing one percent of the reading public with LRH based books," he said.
Mr Miscavige also claimed to quote an anonymous councillor, saying: "You set a shining example. You have effective solutions and are dedicated to improve the lives of others."
He also goes through the services providing in the Dublin base on Abbey Street.
During the video, a clips alleges to show a broadcast from Irish station Ocean FM, but, in a statement on their website, the station management say the station shown is not their station and they have no idea who the people in the clip are.
"The video, played live to a huge audience at the New Year’s Eve Scientology event in Clearwater, Florida, includes a clip of an ‘interview’ being conducted with a Scientologist in the Ocean FM studios.
"However, the studio is NOT that of Ocean FM, and the ‘presenter’ conducting the interview is not known to anyone at Ocean," it read.
"Ocean FM was alerted to the matter by a listener, who suggested that it was unfortunate that Ocean would be involved in such a video."
The station is now investigating the matter.
