At approximately 12.15am today a pizza delivery man had his car taken at Marewood Drive, Ballymun in Dublin.

The 50 year-old male driver was approached by a number of people as he was attempting to make a delivery.

A man forced the driver out of the car before driving away with a female accomplice. The driver was uninjured.

A short time later a garda patrol car observed the car driving on St Helanas Road in Finglas.

The car was driven to Cloonlara Cresent where it was abandoned. The 24-year old man and a 30 year-old woman were arrested at the scene.

They were both detained in Ballymun Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 before appearing before Court number 2, The Criminal Courts of Justice this afternoon charged in connection with the incident.
