A man is due to appear before court in connection to a fatal road crash over the weekend.

A 23-year-old man lost his life in the crash which occurred at Croneyhorn on the R725 between Shillelagh and Carnew, Co Wicklow.

The crash occurred at approximately 4am yesterday morning.

The 23-year-old victim was a passenger in the car which collided with a wall. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man in his early 20s was subsequently arrested in connection to the investigation.

He is due to appear before Bray District Court later today.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses, anyone with information or who may have travelled the R725 at Croneyhorn between 3am–4am on Sunday 11th May 2014 to contact them at Baltinglass Garda Station on 059 6482610, The Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.
