Man (58) arrested in connection with investigation into Marie Carroll's death

A 58-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a garda investigation into the discovery of a woman's body in Firhouse in Dublin on Sunday.
Marie Carroll's body was found at around 1.30pm when gardai and emergency services were called to the house at Woodlawn Park Grove, Firhouse.
She had bruising on her body which is being described as “blunt force trauma.”
Ms Carroll's body was discovered in the kitchen of the house and investigations have established that she died within 24 hours of her body being discovered.
A post mortem on her body took place on Monday afternoon and sources said at the time that it was “inconclusive”.
The 58-year-old man is currently detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Rathfarnham Garda Station.
