Bryan Cooper has been named as retained rider for leading owners Gigginstown House Stud.

Davy Russell lost his retainer with Gigginstown House Stud when he was informed by Michael O'Leary that he would no longer be first choice jockey for the champion owner.

Cooper, who has already ridden a number of big-race winners for the team had been the hot favourite for the job - one of the biggest in Irish racing

O'Leary's brother and Gigginstown's racing manager Eddie O'Leary confirmed the appointment of Cooper today.
