Brogan dilemma for Lilies

JUST how do you stop Bernard Brogan?
JUST how do you stop Bernard |Brogan?
That's the dilemma facing Kildare boss Kieran McGeeney as he tries to plot the downfall of the Dubs and their on-fire predator (pictured below) in Croke Park next Sunday.
“It will be hard to beat them, they are flying at the minute,” McGeeney admitted. “Bernard seems to be unstoppable and, at Croke Park as well, they will enjoy that too.”
Kildare will 'host' Dublin at GAA HQ in this intriguing early-season barometer, with both sides locked together on a maximum six points (along with Tyrone) at the summit of the Allianz Football League Division One table.
But while Kildare narrowly withstood a late Kerry charge in Newbridge yesterday to maintain their perfect start, 14-man Dublin were more impressive in their swashbuckling victory over Mayo the previous night.
Brogan's latest scoring masterclass – 1-10 including 1-4 from play and a ridiculous sideline ball conversion – brought his seasonal tally (for Dublin and Leinster) to a jaw-dropping 3-59 from nine matches.
The one black mark for manager Jim Gavin was Ger Brennan's straight red card for a necklace of offences - the centre-back faces at least a one-match ban.
Tickets for next Sunday's table-topping clash are currently available from clubs and www.tickets.ie, while they go on sale from GAA Ticket Office (52 Lr Dorset St, Dublin 1) from tomorrow morning.
