Exercise helps foil migraines

Monday February 06 2012

Aerobic exercise may help prevent migraine headaches.

Exercise stimulates the body to release endorphins, brain chemicals that improve mood. Exercise also helps relieve stress -- a known headache trigger.

Aim for 40 minutes a day, five days a week. One thing it will not do is stop a migraine in progress. In fact, exercise makes it feel worse.
