The large Irish contingent who crossed the Duck Pond last week for the LAMMA Show in Newark, Nottinghamshire, could not have been disappointed. Manufacturers big and small were all represented there and the event provided a post-Agritechnica shop window closer to home for British and Irish customers.

Irish manufacturers were well represented at the event with Abbey, Cross, Hi-Spec, McHale, Keenan, Broughan, Smyth, Redrock and Dromone being among the many firms there.

The next stage of emission control has been the driver behind many tractor launches over the past 18 months and the vast majority were present and accounted for.

There was an enormous amount of big kit at the event for tillage farmers, including self-propelled sprayers, large square bale chasers and combines. Massey Ferguson brought two newly updated and emissionised combines plus new, emissionised 7624 tractors and much more.

CaseIH brought a maize header for their combine harvester to gauge interest and on the cereal establishment front, in particular, there was an enormous variety of big kit options.

One of the biggest tractors at LAMMA, besides the CaseIH Quadtrac, was John Deere's new 9560 RT, which is the flagship tracked model from Deere boasting 560hp.

No prices have yet been announced for the new tracked versions, but the wheeled version of the 9560 RT, the 9560 R has a list price of €340,118 plus VAT.
