Dawn hopeful of McDonald's deal

Tuesday February 21 2012

Dawn Meats is understood to be in line to secure a lucrative contract to supply beef burgers to McDonald's restaurants.

While both Dawn and McDonald's declined to comment, talks between the parties are said to be ongoing. However, a final agreement is not expected for at least two months.

McDonald's is the single biggest customer for Irish beef and the contract to supply beef for their burgers is viewed as a blue-chip one.

At the moment burgers for McDonald's Irish and British outlets are manufactured at Scunthorpe in England. If Dawn win a share of the McDonald's business, the burgers could be manufactured by their beef processing plants in either Ireland or Britain.
