Zoe Saldana can’t resist looking at her cover for Ocean Drive Magazine.
The 35-year-old actress is on the front of the December issue, wearing a monochrome outfit artistically matching the black and white backdrop.
The star is excited about the cover and is grateful she was asked to be its star.
“I feel excited, really happy. I find myself walking in my hotel room and I just keep looking at the cover that’s right there on the table of the magazine,” she told Extra TV.
“It kind of causes a very nice impression of you and I feel very grateful.”
She is currently starring in Out of the Furnace alongside Christian Bale, Forest Whitaker, Woody Harrelson and Casey Affleck.
Working with such an A-list cast was daunting for Zoe, but she’s overjoyed with the outcome of the movie and the story it tells.
“It feels great when you know that you are being considered to hold your own with a group of people who are so prolific and talented. I had a wonderful experience and I learnt a lot,” she explained.
“And the story, I’m really happy we’re shedding light on a story like that showcases working class America and how they’ve been affected in the last ten years with the war and the recession.”
Zoe has also just finished filming a Nina Simone biopic, where she portrays the star in this story of the legendary jazz singer and musician’s life.
But critics have been quick to knock her casting, criticising her light skin and slender frame.
“I want to wait until the movie comes out and for people to see it, and then we can have the discussion about it. But that’s so far how I feel about it today,” she said of the negative comments.
