X Factor - Irish singer Janet Grogan fails to make it to live shows

Irish hopeful Janet Grogan wowed the X Factor judges on this week’s episode, but unfortunately her performance wasn’t enough to bag her a place in the live shows.
Janet had made it as far as the Judges’ Houses round of the singing competition, for which she got to travel to Los Angeles to judge Sharon Osbourne’s home.
She was competing in the over-25s category, which Sharon Osbourne is mentoring this year.
Janet, who is from Tallaght, Co Dublin, delivered a heartfelt and soulful performance of ‘Ordinary World’ by Duran Duran, but unfortunately didn’t do enough to make it to the next round.
Robbie Williams, who joined Sharon Osbourne as a guest judge, even compared Janet to Adele.
Grogan previously entered the competition in 2014 but was dramatically kicked off the show by Simon Cowell during the Six Chair Challenge.
On last night’s episode, she tearfully said that she dreaded the idea of having to go home and tell her family that she had been booted off the show.
However that was exactly what Grogan had to do when Sharon Osbourne decided not to bring her to the live shows.
Speaking just before Sharon delivered the news, Janet said that the show was “absolutely everything” for her.
The emotional singer also praised her parents, saying their belief in her “never wavers”.
Sharon praised Janet’s singing, calling her voice “very distinctive”, but added that there was a disconnect, before deciding to send the Dubliner home.
