On stage at the O2 Arena in London last night, Adele paid tribute to the victims of the Brussels attacks, in which at least 34 people were killed, and referred to the terrorists as "f*****s".
In a video posted online by a fan, the 27-year-old singer can be heard saying, “We're all here for the same reason. I'm hoping you've all come to be entertained by me. I'm here to entertain you, so we're all united, so that makes us much better than them f*****s. You're on your own you f*****g loners.”
She later saw her packed stadium of fans hold up their phones, creating a sea of light, in a statement of solidarity with the victims.
The concert was also attended by model Cara Delevingne, who posted her reaction on Instagram, saying: “I cried... a lot and laughed even more! A truly beautiful and inspiring show ❤ thank you @adele for being you!”
Adele wasn’t the only person to make mention of the attacks on stage last night. While performing in Zurich, rapper Macklemore also made a heartfelt statement about yesterday’s events, saying: "I never believed in God, but things got so f****d up, that I had to pray."
The London premiere of Batman v Superman also went ahead last night, despite fears of terrorism - albeit with a scaled back red carpet.
