U2 move in mysterious Bray

Music legends U2 were spotted filming in Bray, Co. Wicklow yesterday with fans hoping the shoot is for their new album cover.

The Irish rockers had been holding court in the Bray Head Hotel before filming a segment, while singing 'Desire', along the seafront.

Bono, Adam Clayton, The Edge and Larry Mullen Jr even performed an impromptu set for select passersby, who were at the right place at the right time.

Some locals were also used as extras in the video.

They were spotted filming stills at Jim Doyle's pub in the seaside town, in what fans online are hoping will be used for their upcoming album cover.

Meanwhile, the band have just released their first song in three years.

The track appears in the trailer for the upcoming biopic movie on the life of Nelson Madela called ‘Mandela: Long walk to freedom’.

However the track may not appear on the band’s new album, as it was specifically written for the Mandela movie.

The movie stars Luther and The Wire actor Idris Elba in the title role and is based on Mandela's 1994 autobiography 'Long Walk To Freedom'.

The band’s last album was 2009’s 'No Line On The Horizon', however they are expected to release a new record next year.

It is reported the band are hoping to have the new collection finished by the end of next month, before deciding on a final track listing.

Rumoured collaborations on the new album include Coldplay’s Chris Martin and Danger Mouse.
