THE much-hyped new host of TV3's Xpose will earn just €20k for their six month contract providing maternity cover on the show.
Models Daniella Moyles and Nadia Forde may dream about a jet-setting life on the entertainment show interviewing popstars and attending red carpet events in London.
But an insider claimed they would need to keep doing modelling work with their agencies, due to the low rates of pay on Xpose. That's if they can get the time off.
"It's been described as a 'swish presenting gig' but being on Expose is one long slog.
"The Xpose presenters double up on the jobs by doing their own editing and producing their own packages," said one TV3 insider.
The day can start early too, getting up before 5am to catch the red eye plane over to the UK for premieres and interviews with celebrities.
TV3 declined to comment on the salary for the new addition, who will cover the six month maternity leave of Aisling O'Loughlin.
But an insider told the Herald: "Presenters would do this job for free so keen are they to get on TV. The pay isn't great but there are perks like the use of luxury cars and free wardrobes full of clothes."
Presenter Angela Scanlon, X Factor contestant Melanie McCabe, and model Pippa O'Connor are also said to be in the running for the new job.
TV3 revealed last night that a shortlist of six presenters for the slot should be announced next week, and the winning candidate will be on camera in just two weeks' time.
"Previous on air experience, an ability to source, chase and edit entertainment stories, a strong interest in celebrity, fashion and beauty, and a track record in writing with a strong contact book are all requirements for the job.
Anyone interested in the Xpose role is asked to send a letter of interest and showreel to Denise Murphy, TV3, Westgate Business Park, Ballymount, Dublin 24 or email to email@example.com before 5pm on Friday, November 1.
