Here are the 12 contestants appearing in the new series of Celebrity Big Brother on Channel 5:
:: Lacey Banghard
Famous for: The glamour girl from Bedford won the Page 3 Idol competition before going on to model for Nuts, Front and Loaded as well as appearing as a Soccer AM Soccerette with ex-CBB housemate Rhian Sugden.
She said she will struggle with being woken up in the house because she is not a morning person.
Love life: Currently single, but says she likes "a man's man".
Likes: Fashion, she has 10 GCSEs and wanted to study design at college.
Dislikes: People laughing at her surname, she said: "I've had every joke you can think of thrown at me."
She says: "Modelling for Page 3 Idol has made me feel sexy and confident. I've never really felt like that before. I've never loved myself."
:: Claire Richards
Famous for: She signed up with pop group Steps when she was still a teenager and toured the world selling millions of records.
Life after the group split was not so easy and she has spoken about her battle with depression and eating disorders.
Love life: Married with two children.
Likes: Reality TV, she has also starred in Popstar to Opera Star, Celebrity Master Chef and The Steps Reunion.
Dislikes: Worrying about her weight, she said: "It's not going to rule my life anymore."
She says: "From the age of 17 to 25, I was in the music industry and had someone to organise my life. Then it stopped. I ended up sitting around wasting time and getting fat."
:: Frankie Dettori
Famous for: Born in Milan, he moved to England as a teenager and became one of the most successful jockeys of his generation - in 1996 he won seven races on a single day at Ascot.
He also had a stint on A Question of Sport and runs a chain of restaurants with celebrity chef Marco Pierre White.
Love life: Married with five children.
Likes: Riding winners, he has more than 3,000 under his belt.
Dislikes: Surprise drugs tests - he recently failed one.
He says: "I came to Newmarket not knowing anyone and not having a single word of English. I was like a little asylum seeker."
:: Gillian Taylforth
Famous for: Playing Kathy Beale in EastEnders for more than a decade where she was involved in dramatic storylines including several affairs, rape and death.
She has also appeared in The Bill and Footballer's Wives and has joined the panel on Loose Women.
Love life: Single after a split in 2009 from long-term partner Geoff Knights.
Likes: Celebrity Big Brother, she begged her agent to get her on the show.
Dislikes: Being single.
She says: "I'm a huge romantic. I definitely haven't given up on men. I'd love to fall in love again. Why not? You're never too old for romance."
:: Neil Ruddock
Famous for: His football career as an uncompromising hardman in defence for teams including Millwall, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.
This is not his first appearance on reality television - he took to the jungle in the third series of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here.
Love life: his other half is former glamour model Leah Newman.
Likes: A pint and pie, the imposing Ruddock struggled with his weight throughout his career.
Dislikes: Former Manchester United star Andy Cole.
He says: "Basically, I loved kicking Andrew Cole. I know it's not big and it's not clever but in one tackle I did break both his legs because he annoyed me".
:: Paula Hamilton
Famous for: Starring in a 1980s advert for Volkswagen where she left her husband, ditched her jewellery and fur coat but kept the car.
She said she was planning on bringing a coconut called Boris into the house so she has someone to talk to.
Love life: She dated Simon Cowell for seven years but is currently single.
Likes: Spirituality, she claims to have had previous lives as a baker and a sea captain.
Dislikes: Cowell, she says: "I haven't been invited onto his yacht and I don't want to go anyway."
She says: "If I am a devotee to anything, it's Mother Nature."
:: Rylan Clark
Famous for: His theatrical style that made him a hit on last year's X Factor. He has also had a stint in a Spanish boyband and in Take That and Westlife tribute acts.
A week after leaving the X Factor, he was presenting morning TV as the Guest Entertainment Editor on Daybreak.
Love life: Single after having his heart broken three years ago.
Likes: Fashion, he says: "All my money goes on what I look like, if I can't eat, I can't eat. At least I've got my colour match right."
Dislikes: Getting "horrible" abuse on Twitter.
He says: "I can't wait to have kids. I've never been with a girl, it's not my thing but I'm not ruling it out. I want the Range Rover, the husband and two kids. I want to take my boy to football on a Sunday and my little girl dancing on a Wednesday."
:: Ryan Maloney
Famous for: The actor, who grew up in Melbourne, has played Jarrod Toadfish Rebecchi in Neighbours since 1995. In that time he has been jilted at the altar, held hostage, blackmailed and shot.
He is also a regular on the UK pantomime circuit.
Love life: Married with two children.
Likes: Running. He completed three marathons in 12 months a few years ago.
Dislikes: The thought of leaving Neighbours, he says: "I want to stay in Neighbours until they get rid of me.
"It's just the best job in the world. I turn up, I muck around, tell a few jokes and then go home."
He says: He wants to persuade his wife to join him when he learns to fly a plane, adding: "She's been pretty nervous seeing me behind the controls of any piece of machinery ever since I crashed our car while we were on honeymoon."
:: Sam Robertson
Famous for: The Dundee-born model and actor rose to fame playing Adam Barlow in Coronation Street and has also appeared in River City and Beaver Falls.
Love life: He has been linked to a former Miss Scotland, Katharine Brown, and says Scottish girls are "feisty".
Likes: Older women.
Dislikes: Becoming "public property" after his time on the Street.
He says: "Most guys in their twenties fancy older women. Don't get me wrong, there has to be something more than just being older. They have to be super-hot too. But I think most guys our age think about it."
:: Tricia Penrose
Famous for: Appearing in ITV drama Heartbeat as well as The Royal and Emmerdale. She also tried to launch a pop career in the 1990s with the help of Simon Cowell and had a bash at landing the UK entry for Eurovision in 2002, although she failed to win A Song For Europe. Other TV contests for the actress from Kirkby, Merseyside, have included Celebrity MasterChef and Comic Relief Does Fame Academy.
Love life: Married to TV presenter Mark Simpkin, with two sons Jake and Freddy Jay.
Likes: Showing off her vocal skills
Dislikes: Turning up to celeb events in the same dress as someone else - she did just that in the same outfit as Amy Childs.
She says: "I've been every size from an 8 to a 16 when I was pregnant, but I no longer care if I'm a bit bigger. I'm learning to love my curves. I get more compliments now than I did when I was skinny" - after posing naked for a magazine.
:: Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt
Age: 26 and 29
Famous for: Featuring in US TV show The Hills, with their relationship repeatedly dominating the storylines of the MTV series. They went on to last four days in the US version of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! and released a book advising people How To Be Famous.
Love life: They married on the show, after briefly calling off their engagement.
Likes: Jesus - they are both born-again Christians.
Dislikes: Montag hated her "ugly duckling" pre-surgery self so much that she underwent 10 operations in one day, including a nose job and buttock implants.
He says: "I would do reality TV forever. It's so much cooler to have people come up to me and be like 'Spencer Pratt!' and know my name, than to be Orlando Bloom who's famous for being some pirate."
She says: "Never leave the house without full hair and make-up."
