He has mastered television and has been making a name for himself in theatre circles -- now Love/Hate actor Peter Coonan is turning his attention to conquering the internet.

The Dubliner is trying his hand at comedy with his new web series The Goo.

The show tells the story of two best friends, Dave and Jonesy, who are on a six-week party session.

Letting his humorous side shine through, Coonan plays 'the Gooroo' in the five-part mini-series, staring into the camera and chatting to the audience about the meaning of life.

It was written by actor Stephen Jones, who starred as Brian in Love/Hate, and features cameos from some of Ireland's well-known faces.

The production's first episode has already racked up over 5,000 views.

Coonan has been keeping busy and last week returned to the set of Stuart Carolan's Love/Hate in Dublin to reprise the role of Fran, the character he is best known for, in the fifth season of the RTE hit.

The former UCD student, who has been shortlisted in the Best Supporting Actor in Television category at this year's IFTA awards for his portrayal in Love/Hate, is expected to enjoy more dramatic and violent scenes in the next installment of the programme.

Thanks to the success of Love/Hate, Coonan has been taking on a string of other projects.

Over the past 12 months, Coonan has starred in the Lyric Theatre's Philadelphia, Here I Come, as well as working on new movie Get Up and Go, 1950s thriller Quirke and TV3 cartoon Newsbag.
