SHE has the voice of an angel, however X Factor’s Melanie McCabe has admitted she’s love to play a bad girl in RTE drama Love/Hate.
The Dubliner, who failed to make it through to tonight’s live shows, has said she’d love to break into acting.
“I’m a big love hate fan I would like to get a part in it, it would be brilliant I love it. I love to play Nidge’s new moth.
“Acting is a passion of mine, singing and acting are my two favourite things.”
However Love/Hate actress Mary Murray, who plays Janet, responded to the singer’s advances on Nidge by joking: “She’d want to be careful, Janet could rip her hair out if she tried to move in on Nidge”.
Melanie however admitted she wouldn’t be seeking a Love/Hate style revenge attack on mentor Nicole Scherzinger.
“She didn’t get emotional, she wasn’t crying or anything but I’m sure it was hard for her because she talked to me the days before and told me she knew how much it meant to me
“This is the business, you go into the business and you have to be prepared for that it brings. I went into of my own accord so I have to take what comes.
Ahead of her live blog for Independent.ie tonight, the 20-year-old admitted she was bias in favour of ‘girls’ finalist Abi.
“I’m really biased with Abi, from the bottom of my heart she is a gorgeous person so I’d love to see her do well.
“I always think the bands go pretty early on, there’s only really one band left towards the end.”
Despite being rejected from the competition, the singer said she has no regrets after entering for a fourth time.
“I want to continue singing, I’ve been a singer since I was a kid and I’m not going to stop now. X Factor has done me really well this year and I’ve got lots of work out of it.”
Join Melanie McCabe here on Independent.ie from 7.45 tonight for a live blog of the first X Factor live show, for all her opinions on this year's acts.
