TV3 will axe 'The Morning Show' this autumn, but an afternoon show to rival RTE is expected to be lined up during a major overhaul.
The station's new head of programmes, Jeff Ford, has said he was looking forward to shaking things up at the commercial broadcaster and has already decided against another season of reality series 'Tallafornia'.
It is now believed that 'The Morning Show' will be axed come September, but a daily afternoon programme fronted by its presenter Martin King will be commissioned instead to compete with Daithi O Se and Maura Derrane on RTE's 'Today'.
It has been reported that Lucy Kennedy was in talks to co-host the new slot with King, however a source told the Irish Independent that this was not the case.
Meanwhile, RTE drama Love/Hate' has already become a hit with UK audiences, with nearly three-quarters of a million tuning in for the series opener. Stuart Carolan's gangland phenomenon kicked off on Channel 5 on Wednesday night and attracted 738,000 British viewers.
