Traditional family Christmas for teen sensation Niall
HE's a teenage star thanks to the power of reality television, but even 'X-Factor' stars get to spend Christmas with their mothers.
While Edgeworthstown in Co Longford is a far cry from the glamour of the ITV show, Niall Horan is like any other 17-year-old. The One Direction singer is looking forward to tucking into his turkey and ham with his family.
Niall will travel back to Ireland for three days over Christmas, his dad Robert Horan told the Irish Independent. He will divide his time between his mother's home in Co Longford and visiting his father, where he grew up in Mullingar, Co Westmeath.
But is Niall worried that his rural home will be swarming with young fans over the festivities?
The gruelling schedule is not bothering the teenager, who is "full of energy".
"He loves the attention. This is what Niall was born to do," his father said. "He's handling it very well. Niall enjoys the crowds. He's living the dream."
Irish eyes have turned to Niall since Mary Byrne was eliminated from the show last weekend.
Meanwhile, Robert Horan praised Simon Cowell for being "very good" to his son.
"Niall was always interested in showbiz. Apart from singing, he always spent his childhood mimicking others.
"He's brilliant, he'd have been a stand-up comedian if he hadn't gone down this route. He can pick up any dialect. He has a great ear for music. He picked up the guitar and learned how to play from the internet."
Niall has one brother -- Greg (23) -- who is "on a high" since Niall's rollercoaster began.
One Direction are guaranteed success as music mogul Cowell has taken a personal interest in their future.
Mary Byrne is also set to make a fortune after signing a record deal with Sony.
