PRODUCERS at The Voice are on baby watch today as pregnant finalist Kelly Mongan’s due date has arrived.
The 19-year-old made it through to next Sunday’s final, however producers are concerned she may be unable to perform at the final, even if the baby arrives on time.
She received harsh criticism from the coaches on Sunday, however her mentor Kian Egan believed it was an attempt to de-rail her chances of winning.
He took to Twitter to defend his act, saying: “What in gods name is @Sharon_Corr talking about, obviously afraid of @kellyxmongan winning!”
He later added: “The others coaches are trying to get rid of @kellyxmongan she's obviously a threat!”
Yesterday Kian payed a visit to Kelly’s home in Fermoy as part of the build up to the final.
It is not known what the contingency plans are in the event Kelly is unable to perform – although an eliminated semi-finalist could be brought back to take her place, it is believed more likely the show will continue with just three finalists.
