OUTSPOKEN British actor Stephen Fry will be learning a cupla focal for a cameo role in a popular soap opera.
Fry, who is also a writer and comedian famous for his controversial tweets, will begin filming for Irish language soap 'Ros na Run' in early December.
The actor is currently shooting a new BBC TV series on minority languages called 'Planet Word'.
He was invited to appear in the TG4 soap during a scheduled visit to Connemara where he will be exploring the origins of the Irish language. Fry's guest appearance will be filmed in early December on a closed shoot on the 'Ros na Run' set in Spiddal, Co Galway.
Scriptwriters have written a small speaking part for the Englishman and from this week it is understood he will be learning his Irish script.
The cameo will involve a game of golf at the Connemara Islands golf club in Eanach Mheain and a visit to Ros a' Mhil harbour where he will travel to Spiddal Pier before heading to the soap set.
