Simon Cowell begins negotiations with Cheryl Cole and Danni Minogue on return to X Factor

SIMON Cowell is reported to have initiated contact with Cheryl Cole and Danny Minogue about a return to the X Factor judging panel.
The music mogul is worried about falling ratings on the UK version of the show, and is believed to think the fault lies with the panel.
Closer magazine claims that Cowell feels Tulisa has lost her edge this series, and that although he is eager to keep Nicole on the panel she has only agreed to do one series.
The series reached an all time high of 20m viewers in the UK when Cole and Minogue were on the panel with Cowell and Walsh.
The fate of the two male judges on the panel is not clear either.
Cowell and Mayo man Louis Walsh are great personal friends, however Cowell is worried that the only original judge left on the panel, who turned 60 this year, may be getting too old.
However he is believed to be reluctant to let Walsh go, as he has grabbed some of the show’s most controversial headlines during his time on the panel.
His close relationship with Walsh also means he trusts him to be his eyes and ears on the show while he is in the US.
The more likely scenario is believed to be that Gary Barlow will not return – Barlow confirmed last month that he and Cowell only communicate through producers.
ITV is believed to be anxious that Cowell return to the show, as the chemistry between him and Walsh proved incredibly popular with viewers.
However Fox have commissioned a third series of X Factor USA, and that coupled with ITV’s reluctance to move the UK show to the spring make Cowell’s return unlikely.
