The former RTE daytime host made her TV3 debut yesterday, her first presenting role since she left Montrose in 2009.

Insisting that she has no "big agenda" about a return to TV, she filled in for Late Lunch Live hosts Lucy Kennedy and Martin King on the sofa and will co-host with King next week while Kennedy is on holiday.

The mother of two, who fronted RTE's Afternoon Show for five years, famously fell out with her co-host Blathnaid Ni Chofaigh over alleged bullying.

The 38-year-old described her first time in front of the cameras since then as "surreal" and said her decision to become a full-time mum was a "very important" one.

"It was surreal doing it again after so long, but I got there in the end with loads of Rescue Remedy and my goal was just to have fun, which I did," she said.

"At the moment this is just filling in for a week and we'll see what its like. There is no big agenda behind it.

"It's like going back to an ex-boyfriend and kissing him to see if you still like him."

The Dubliner said TV is only one of many career options for the future as her family and being a mother is her priority.

"I just wanted to be a 100pc mummy for a while as I had been working for 20 years," she said.
