LOVE/HATE has continued its impressive ratings performance for RTE last night, with 880,000 people tuning in for the second episode of the show’s fourth series.

The 880,000 figures represented a massive 50pc share of the available audience last night.

The figures are even more impressive based on the fact the show goes up against ‘Xtra Factor’ on TV3 as well as Downton Abbey on ITV in the same timeslot.

Compared to last year’s viewing figures, it also shows the explosion in  popularity of the gritty gangland drama – with the show up over 100,000 viewers on the same episode in last year’s series.

Last year’s second episode attracted 671,000 viewers, representing a 36pc share.

The series continues next Sunday night on RTÉ One at 9.30.
