X FACTOR contestant Christopher Maloney has admitted that he has voted for himself "a few times".
The Liverpool singer admitted to The Mirror he made the calls, however added: “So has everyone else, I doubt my calls have made much of a difference - if I had more credit on my phone I’d vote more.”
Eliminated contestant Kye Sones hinted at Maloney’s habit in an interview, after being asked why Maloney was still in the competition he said: “God knows why he is still there. He must have a very expensive phone bill.”
A show source told the paper: “I’ve seen him dialling and redialling his own number over and over again.
"It’s sad really but he wants it that much that he is spending a fortune.
“You can’t outlaw this sort of behaviour but it leaves a very sour taste. It’s against the spirit of the show”.
They added that Maloney’s actions have infuriated the other contestants.
It has been alleged that the singer could have spent thousands over the course of the series so far voting for himself to stay in.
The singer has been branded 'old fashioned' by judges - there was loud booing from the audience after her made it through last week.
