Ryan's Rose is his newest radio rival

Aoibhinn Ni Shuilleabhain's career continues to blossom -- helped, no doubt, by her romantic association with RTE golden boy Ryan Tubridy.

Her latest role, however, may make for somewhat awkward dinner conversation between the pair. Newstalk announced yesterday that the former Rose of Tralee will fill in as a morning radio presenter on Monday while broadcaster Tom Dunne is on holidays.

"She is one of a series of stand-in presenters who joins Tom's producer, Joe Donnelly for the morning radio programme," a statement read.

"Aoibhinn takes on this prime radio day part against some familiar competition, such as Ryan Tubridy," it added subtly.

Ms Ni Shuilleabhain's latest job -- she has already announced she will stand in for Orla Barry on a Saturday show later in the summer -- comes as she simultaneously climbs the ladder in RTE.

Ms Ni Shuilleabhain, who holds a first-class honours degree in Theoretical Physics and a masters in Maths and Biology, began co-hosting her own television series, a music show entitled 'The Reel Deal', on RTE One television recently.
