AN obsession with tracking down the killer of a 15-year-old has brought a risk-taking rookie cop to the streets of Dublin.
But her quest is all part of a gritty ITV urban drama with production under way in various locations around the city before the shoot moves to London next week.
Rising British actress Hayley Atwell, who starred in 'The Sweeney', heads the cast of the new series 'Life of Crime' in which she plays policewoman Denise Woods.
Determined to track down the killer, the three one-hour episodes chart her progress over three decades as she rises through the police ranks.
Apart from the shoot in Dublin, the series has a strong Irish connection, with leading Irish crime writer Declan Croghan ('Waking the Dead' and 'Ripper Street') supplying the script.
Wicklow-based Octagon Films is co-producing the series alongside London's Ecosse Films.
The shoot also marks Atwell's second visit to Ireland this year. She recently worked on the Irish-shot Jimi Hendrix biopic 'All Is By My Side'.
