PRESENTER Blathnaid Ni Chofaigh celebrated the perfect early birthday present with her return to afternoon television.
The Meath-born presenter fronted her first episode of 'Today' with Norah Casey at RTE's Cork studios just three days before she celebrates her 42nd birthday.
It was the flame-haired presenter's first time on afternoon TV since she left RTE's now axed 'Afternoon Show' after health problems almost three years ago.
Blathnaid was delighted to be back. "It is nice to come back. There is a great friendliness here," she said.
The mother of four admitted she was a little nervous about anchoring 'Today' from the Fr Mathew Street studios. That was despite her high-profile appearances on 'Celebrity Bainisteoir' in 2010 and 'The All-Ireland Talent Show'.
But her nerves were nothing compared with 'Dragons' Den' star Norah Casey who had a gruelling early morning start to present her Newstalk radio show before racing to Cork for her 'Today' slot.
