A CONVICTED drug dealer who was sentenced to a total of 10 years in prison is filming scenes for 'Love/Hate'.
Alan Lennox (28), took acting classes in Mountjoy Prison and has now secured a part in the hugely popular RTE crime drama.
He was photographed recently during filming of the fifth series with some of the stars from the hit series, including characters Aido and Elmo.
Other scenes feature the criminal with main character Nidge, played by Tom Vaughan-Lawlor.
While he acts as a 'spotter' and driver for Nidge's gang, in real life, Lennox's life of crime was far from fictional.
He was only released from prison last June after being given a six-year sentence with a concurrent four years attached in January 2009.
When arrested, gardai believe he was working for a notorious drugs gang which is still led by expat criminal Paul 'Burger' Walsh (33) from Baldoyle, north Dublin.
Previously at Dublin Circuit Court, Lennox who is from the Millwood estate in Kilbarrack, pleaded guilty to four separate drugs offences which happened during the space of over two years.
He admitted possessing €26,782 worth of cocaine on August 24, 2007, at Moylaragh Walk, Balbriggan; heroin worth €26,000 on May 28, 2005, at Buttercup Park, Darndale; and €621 worth of heroin and €991 worth of herbal cannabis on August 18, 2005 at Millwood Villas, Kilbarrack.
A spokeswoman for RTE last night said the broadcaster had "no comment" on Lennox's involvement in the show.
Serving gardai have also featured in the hit crime drama.
