Raw talent: New RTE drama series ready to cook up a storm
TV SCREENS are set to heat up later this year – when RTE unleashes a new batch of nail-biting dramas.
Leading the pack as the show likely to have viewers gripped is a brand new drama, Raw, which follows the trend for red-hot restaurant based programmes.
This time around, instead of trailing a member of the Irish celebrity chef contingent, the show is set to lift the lid on behind-the-kitchen-door drama amongst the staff of an up and coming culinary hotspot in Dublin.
And Pure Mule leading lady Charlene McKenna will be heading up the cast.
The actress previously shot to fame as the racy Jennifer, who stirred up more than her fair share of trouble in Pure Mule.
She also knocked up another impressive turn last year as the distraught Eilish, the mother at the centre of the child abduction drama, Singlehanded, which aired to great acclaim – and she is certain to be adding to the drama in the new series, which is promising viewers a compulsive mix of rivalries, friendships and romance between the close-knit kitchen staff.
Alongside Charlene, Keith McErlean is returning to familiar territory in the new feisty drama.
The popular actor won over a host of fans with his part in Bachelors Walk as the hapless Barry and will be reprising a turn in front of the TV cameras to add some spice to the restaurant series, which is to be shot in Ardmore Studios over the summer – home to bodiceripping drama The Tudors.
Along with Raw, cult medical drama The Clinic and the rural crime drama, Singlehanded are to return to screens with fresh new faces and thrilling storylines.
