Two members of Russian punk band Pussy Riot will make their European chat show debut this weekend, when they appear on the Saturday Night Show on RTE.

Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina were recently released from prison after spending two years for hooliganism aggravated by religious hatred, following a controversial anti-Putin performance in a Moscow cathedral.

A third Pussy Riot member, Yekaterina Samutsevich, was freed when a judge suspended her sentence on appeal.

The pair will talk to host Brendan O'Connor about will talk about their difficult experiences in prison and why they are still campaigning for change in Russia. They will be joined on the show by economist Constantin Gurdgiev.

The show will also include a debate on what constitutes homophobia, but  the panel for this discussion is yet to be announced.
