Pat's 'Toy Show' attracts record 1.2 million viewers
One woman wouldn't even take free tickets, but 'The Late Late Toy Show' got a vote of confidence from almost 1.2 million viewers on Friday night.
With a bumper audience of 1,199,000 viewers, the pre-Christmas special with Pat Kenny was the most-watched television programme since 2001, across all channels available in Ireland.
Presumably, one Barbara Heavey would not have been watching, however.
She famously told Pat Kenny that she wasn't "particularly interested" in attending the show after she won a competition, prompting the host to tear up the tickets live on air.
But 'The Late Late Toy Show' has now cleared the one million viewers mark four years in a row, with audiences rising year on year.
In all, 275,000 of those watching were children, with almost 800,000 adults tuning in.
This year's show featured 33 children demonstrating their favourite toys.
Special guests included Sarah Ferguson, McFly and 'Top Gear' presenter Jeremy Clarkson.
