Noel Gallagher reveals he rejected the X Factor
Noel Gallagher says his daughter is still upset that he snubbed the chance to be an X Factor judge.
The guitarist was approached by show boss Simon Cowell earlier this year as he sought to fill the vacant places on the expert panel.
But the former Oasis star - soon to launch his solo career - would not entertain the idea, to the disappointment of his daughter Anais.
"Money was never mentioned," Gallagher said.
The rock idol was sounded out when it emerged that judging regulars Dannii Minogue, Cheryl Cole and Cowell himself would not be taking part this year. Cowell has been too busy launching the US version of the show.
"I told him he didn't really want me on there," Gallagher said, in an interview for The Sun.
"He insisted he did. I insisted harder that he didn't and he gave up asking. My 11-year-old daughter has never forgiven me," he added.
Meanwhile, this year's X Factor kicks off with a foul-mouthed flashback as a contestant from an earlier series loses his temper at the judges again.
North London teenager George returns to the show two years after his "train wreck" audition ended with him throwing his microphone to the ground and telling Simon Cowell to shut up.
This time, he tells the panel he wants to "clear my name" before launching into a tuneless rendition of Give Me Everything by Pitbull.
The 19-year-old wanders off stage towards the crowd before the music is cut off leaving an unimpressed Gary Barlow to tell him: "Some things mature nicely like a good wine or a cheese but you've matured like a bad curry."
He then gets into a shouting match branding new judge Tulisa Contostavlos "some scumbag" before a backstage rant which sees Dermot O'Leary tell him to "watch your mouth" after he calls the N-Dubz star a "dog".
