He claims to have slept with "every good-looking Irish model", but Holly Carpenter's ex and reality TV star Jeremy McConnell Cooke says there's more to him than bed-hopping and schmoozing.

The former Bohs and Shelbourne player is currently starring in MTV's latest reality show, Beauty School Cop Out.

But Sutton native Jeremy thinks viewers will be more interested in his natural wit and charm than his pulling technique.

"I'm a 23-year-old lad having a good time," he told the Diary.

"I'm a flirt and a charmer, but I think people will want to hear what I have to say and see my personality."

The series focuses on appearance-obsessed lads and ladettes battling it out to become a beauty parlour queen.

The producers are billing the show as a Mancunian version of Geordie Shore but with more bitching and Brazilian waxing.

However, Jeremy is not so sure.

"I don't want to be Ireland's answer to Gaz from Geordie Shore, I'm not in that league," he said.

"But you're going to these clubs and getting free vodka and girls are throwing themselves at you -- I mean, what are you going to do?"

"I'm having a good time, but I'm no player. I have sisters and I respect women."

Model Jeremy said it took English girls some time to get used to his wit.

"UK girls didn't get my humour for a bit. It took a while for them to understand," he said. "I'm very sharp and quick -- I think all Irish people are. I don't think English girls get that at first."

Former Miss Ireland Holly dated Jeremy for more than 18 months. They didn't end things too amicably, and Holly has been tight-lipped about Jeremy's appearance on the show.

"I understand why Holly would be like that," said Jeremy. "We dated when we were 18. We've become different people. I don't really know anything about her and she doesn't really know anything about me."

Jeremy wants to pursue a career in TV presenting.

"I'm a bit of a showman and I would love to do more TV work," he said. "I feel comfortable in front of the camera and would love to have a Vernon Kay sort of gig, cracking jokes and presenting.

"I think being on the show has raised my profile and should open doors."

So no dreams of opening a McConnell Cooke Beauty Academy then?

"No. I'm into my spray tan and all that, but I don't fancy giving lads back, sack and crack waxes every day," he said.
