Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison)
An idealistic young Spanish teacher, Schuester is determined to revive McKinley High School's Glee Club, called New Directions, and take it all the way to the National Finals. The rest of the staff thinks he's crazy. But, then, this is one of those schools where everything else takes second place to American football.
Kurt Hummel (Chris Colfer)
Classroom dork Hummel is Glee's soprano. Obsessed with fashion, he dreams of launching his own scent, 'Hummel'. For now, he must make do with singing lead vocal on Glee's version of 'Don't Stop Believin' by Journey.
Rachel Berry (Lea Michele)
Scarily perky Glee singer Berry is so convinced that she's destined to be famous that she always puts a gold star after she signs her name. Not everyone likes her, though -- she's forever being picked on by the popular girls at school.
Finn Hudson (Cory Monteith )
McKinley football star Hudson has a terrible secret -- he dreams of being a singer. In Glee's first episode he tries out for the music club, and spends the rest of the series enduring the jeers of his team-mates.
Quinn Fabray (Dianna Agron)
No high school drama would be complete without the bad girl cheerleader. Fabray is Hudson's girlfriend -- as well as president of the Christ Crusaders, aka the McKinley celibacy club.
Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch)
Comedy veteran Lynch was nominated for a Golden Globe for her portrayal of hard-bitten cheerleader coach Sylvester, a trainer whom, one suspects, has watched Full Metal Jacket a few times too many.
