X FACTOR producers may be forced to eliminate Lucy Spraggan from the show if she fails to perform again this week – after it was confirmed she has not returned to rehearsals so far this week.
It was announced last Saturday afternoon that she would not perform on that night’s live show due to illness, and would get a free pass to the following week.
This follows precedent set by Diana Vickers in 2008 when she was given a free pass due to illness.
However producers have now revealed that the singer is yet to return to rehearsals for this week’s show, due to her illness.
The revelation adds fuel to fevered speculation online that Spraggan has quit the show.
It was reported that the singer was unhappy having to sing cover versions and that she wasn’t earning royalties from the original songs she has performed on the show so far.
Up until the weekend Spraggan was a regular Twitter user – however no tweets have been sent from her account all week.
She was also the only X Factor contestant who didn’t attend the Cosmo awards in London earlier this week.
