'Love/Hate' star alerts parents to brutal scenes

Killian Scott plays Tommy

'LOVE/HATE' star Killian Scott, pictured right, sent his family a "warning text" before the episode in which his character was beaten up.

The 27-year-old told the Irish Independent that he cautioned his parents ahead of the episode.

Sunday's episode featured one of the most violent scenes so far, with Tommy being attacked by Nidge ( Tom Vaughan-Lawlor) after admitting his fling with Georgina (Eve Macklin), the wife of IRA leader Dano (Jason Barry).

Scott said his family usually watch the television phenomenon with "one eye closed".

"I watched last Sunday's with a few friends and they were all pretty shocked," said Scott. "I actually can't watch it with the folks, but I sent them a text to forewarn them it would be pretty rough for me.

An average of 820,000 viewers tuned in on Sunday – an increase of 136,700 from last week.

Every show so far has seen its audience increase week on week. Despite the harrowing content and contrary to previous weeks, though, no complaints were registered at RTE by viewers.
