Louis Walsh’s Union J favourites to win X Factor
Louis Walsh and his band Union J are tipped for X Factor glory after Ella was booted out
ONE Direction’s Niall Horan has joined with X Factor fans in expressing anger at favourite Ella Henderson getting the boot last night.
Ella (16) – tipped by many to win this year’s series – was the last female in the competition. She was in the bottom two last night alongside second favourite Arthur James (24).
After the judging panel took it to Deadlock, Ella was eliminated as she had the fewer public votes.
The studio audience were stunned into silence, with host Dermot O’Leary saying it was one of the most shocking results ever.
One Direction's Niall Horan (19) was also fuming with the results. Taking to twitter, the Mullingar native shared his outrage with fans.
“Oh my god! Cannot believe what just happened on X Factor. What the hell?” he wrote. “That's a complete joke! Cannot believe that. They both 100% did not deserve to be in that situation.”
There were boos and hisses from the audience when it was revealed that cheesy crooner Christopher Maloney, who is being dubbed Christopher Baloney made it through.
Former X Factor winner Leona Lewis said there was “no way Ella and James should be singing against each other.”
Strictly Come Dancing contestant Denise Van Outen called the X Factor a “joke”. Both Ella, James and X Factor were trending on Twitter around the world following the vote.
Ella’s exit is also providing another headache for the show’s producers as there are now no females amongst the finalists.
Questions are also being asked of the girls’ mentor, Tulisa. Her category was tipped as the strongest before the live shows but two of her acts have been eliminated, while Lucy Spraggan quit the show due to illness.
Meanwhile, it was good news for Louis Walsh as his boyband Union J made it through.
And many have applauded Jaymi Hensley, who admitted he was gay after a ‘heart-to-heart' with Louis.
He encouraged the young star to be true to himself and reminded Jaymi that both Boyzone and Westlife had prominent gay members
