FOR Kirsteen O'Sullivan it was a birthday present that came early.

The Scottish native, who turns 32 today, was last night announced as the stand-in presenter for TV3's flagship celebrity gossip show 'Xpose'.

The blonde beauty will take over presenting duties from TV3 colleague Aisling O'Loughlin.

Her stint at the helm is scheduled to begin early next month, when Aisling begins a six-month maternity leave.

"I'm very excited about it, I was very lucky," Kirsteen told the Irish Independent last night.

Although she is better known in TV3 for her role on sports programmes, such as the channel's European football coverage, Kirsteen said that she would fit right in as celebrity gossip presenter.

She will join Karen Koster, Glenda Gilson and Lisa Cannon, and knows the girls well from working in behind-the-scenes roles on the show.

"There's great camaraderie among the girls, they're very funny," she said.

"I've always been a girly girl, interested in fashion, my mum runs a fashion business, so I've already been immersed in it," she said.

As for what she'll do after the six-month stint is over, Kirsteen said that she was happy to have the job for now and that six months was a long time in television.

"I'm very philosophical about it," she said.
