Kudos to TV star Jennifer Maguire who managed to rope several members of the Anchorman 2 cast into appearing on Republic of Telly during their whistle-stop tour of Dublin.

The hilarious sketch will air next week and will feature David Koechner who plays cowboy hat-wearing sports reporter Champ Kind.

Jen also managed to grab Will Ferrell as he made his way out of The Late Late studio and bombarded him with questions.

It wasn't the first time Jen and Will have had an impromptu chinwag, as the 33-year-old star met him on the red carpet in London several weeks ago.

And according to Jen, they guys were more than willing to appear on the comedy show.

"We had the guys come in and film a sketch for the Republic of Telly," she told the Herald.

"They were calling and calling and calling. And we said g'wan we'll have you on then if you stop calling me. Just stop calling Will!"

And after witnessing her and Bernard O'Shea's natural comic timing, Jen is confident the Anchorman producers will ask them both to appear in the third instalment of the film.

She said: "Obviously after seeing our skills today in the Republic they're going to want us to be in the third one -- that's a given."

The Fear star admitted to have a bit of a soft spot for Ron's impressive moustache and mane of hair.

She said: "I think Ron Burgundy is gorgeous. I love a bit of a tache and hairy men.

"I wanted to wear a tache to the premiere but I couldn't find one in time."

Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd and Koechner all attended the glitzy premiere on Monday night. The boys sank a few pints in Toner's before jumping in a blacked-out car and making their way to Dublin's Savoy cinema.

An exclusive after-party was held in Lillie's Bordello and went on until the early hours.
