As part of a major shake-up at the station by new boss Dan Healy, the Herald can reveal that the 30-year-old is just about to sign a contract to host a new daily evening programme – in an effort to bring in more listeners.

Louise, who lives in Dublin with her long term boyfriend Gordan Spierin, went down a storm when she filled in for Ryan Tubridy last summer,

She also has had plenty of time to hone her on-air skills with her Saturday morning programme.

It was rumoured that Louise, who grew up in Chicago, could be in line to take over DJ veteran Larry Gogan's (75) Golden Hour – however, a well-placed source denied this.

“Louise is a young female that will appeal to a young audience; the 2FM team sees a lot of potential in her.

“There's no official word on what show she'll be taking over exactly, it was bandied about that she could front a lunchtime slot from Larry Gogan, but now it’s looking more likely she’ll helm a programme every evening, Monday to Friday,” the insider added.

Meanwhile, Republic of Telly duo Jennifer Maguire and Bernard O'Shea are on the cusp of signing a contract to take over Hector O hEochagain's post.

A source told the Herald that there have been “delays” at the national broadcaster over the past couple of weeks and that the co-anchors are still waiting to sign on the dotted line.

It seems things are booming for Jennifer and Bernard at Montrose lately.

Comedian Bernard will see his new TV series Next Week's News kick off tonight on RTE Two at 9.30pm.
