‘I’ve lots of potatoes that need peeling’ - Mr Burns pokes fun at Ireland’s economic woes

NEWS of Ireland’s economic woes have even made it to Springfield, with local billionaire Mr Burns offering 200 of us work.

In a new viral clip for the long running animated comedy, Mr Burns is still depressed after the loss of Mitt Romney in the presidential election.

He attempts to explain the fiscal cliff to viewers, saying: “Think of the economy as a car, and the rich man as the driver. If you don’t give the rich man all the money, he’ll drive you over the cliff. It’s common sense.”

He then calls for a more ‘progressive’ immigration policy: “I’ve a progressive proposal to let into this country two hundred grimy Irish men a year. I’ve got lots of potatoes that need peeling and stables to be mucked out.”

The video has been viewed almost 700,000 times on YouTube.
