RTE'S Irish language news will be broadcast from the TG4 studios in Co Galway from next week.
The move means newsreader Siun Nic Gearailt is returning to the Baile na hAbhann studios after a four-year stint in Montrose doubling as presenter of 'Nuacht' and filling in for colleagues presenting RTE news bulletins in English.
From July 20, the extended RTE Nuacht will be broadcast on a daily basis from a new studio at the TG4 headquarters as part of a €3m revamp.
Siun began her career with TG4 in Baile na hAbhann and now, following a major re- development of the 'Nuacht' programme, will be permanently based in Connemara.

The Irish language news programme will have a new 5.45pm slot seven days a week.
"It's a very exciting development and these are very interesting times for all of us involved in 'Nuacht'," said Siun.
A total of 42 staff will now be involved in the preparation and presentation of both Nuacht on RTE and Nuacht TG4 from the Baile na hAbhann studios. Three new technical positions have been created as a result of the investment by the State broadcaster.
Michael Lally, Chief News Editor of Nuacht, said that Nuacht RTE would retain a bureau at Montrose, while Nuacht on RTE radio would continue to be broadcast from the radio centre in Montrose.
"Moving the Nuacht tv service to Baile na hAbhann is a historic development. It is the first time that RTE has moved part of its core service out of Dublin," he said.
"It guarantees the future of Nuacht in its natural environment in the Gaeltacht."
