Hair today, gone tomorrow - TV3 forecaster ditches the quiff

It was a case of “hair today, gone tomorrow” for TV3 weather forecaster Deric Hartigan in this evening’s bulletin.
The Limerick man caused somewhat of a stir yesterday evening as he presented the weather, complete with a Jedward-inspired ‘do.
But the gravity-defying hairstyle was replaced with a more conservative coiffure for this evening’s forecast.
Hartigan noticeably flattened his quiff for his report.
He also ditched yesterday’s eye-catching outfit and replaced it with mint green shirt, floral tie and formal black suit. Hartigan complimented his shirt and tie combination with a pink pocket handkerchief.
TV3’s replacement forecaster for regular Martin King might have noted the intense Twitter reaction to his choice of hairstyle last night.
Comments included “Elvis is in the house” and “So Jedward have gone from doing pantos to presenting the weather”.
A spokesperson for TV3 said Hartigan is known for his funky sense of style; “Deric has had a pretty funky hairstyle for a while now; maybe his hair was particularly high last night.”
