ALTHOUGH they have separated Ryan Tubridy has a new boss in RTE -- his estranged wife.

Last night RTE announced that Anne Marie Power had been appointed as the new entertainment and music editor for RTE Radio 1.

A former producer on 'Liveline' and award-winning documentary maker with the station, Ms Power's new role will include her overseeing Tubridy's weekday radio programme as well as 'Mooney', 'The John Creedon Show' and other specialist music programmes.

She will start work in a month's time, a Montrose spokeswoman said.

Power and Tubridy separated in February 2006 after nine years together.

At the time of the split, the couple, who have two daughters together -- Ella (11) and Julia (5) -- issued a brief joint statement saying they had separated after two years of marriage.

Friends of Ryan Tubridy said the couple remain on good terms and that he was delighted with the news of her new job. He is now dating former Rose of Tralee Aoibhinn Ni Suilleabhain.
