Film Four, 9pm

This entertaining thriller based on a novel by Michael Connelly stars Matthew McConaughey as Mickey Haller, a defence lawyer whose office is a black Lincoln Town Car and who has devoted his life to defending wrongly accused criminals.

Up till now he's mainly dealt in petty crime, but Haller lands the case of his career when he agrees to take on Louis Roulet as a client.

Roulet, a Beverly Hills playboy, has been accused of brutally beating a prostitute called Regina Campo, but Haller quickly becomes convinced he's innocent, and was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. His subsequent investigations uncover a link to a serious miscarriage of justice.
