Fan favourites return to Republic of Telly for milestone 100th episode
Republic of Telly fans will get a blast from the past in the coming weeks when the comedy show rolls out a few surprises to celebrate an anniversary.
The sketch show, now in its 10th season, is bringing back a host of familiar faces for a bumper show to mark the 100th episode.
Model Georgia Salpa and former presenter Dermot Whelan are among the personalities making a comeback to RTE screens.
Whelan, who admitted that he didn't miss the show after leaving, is back for one night only to join his former colleagues Jennifer Maguire and Bernard O'Shea and his successor Kevin McGahern.
Whelan, a presenter on 98FM, left the show after 60 episodes to spend more time with his family.
Salpa, comedian Neil Delamere and hip hop group The Rubber Bandits are also taking part in the programme.
London-based Salpa has been absent from the Irish modelling scene in recent months, but the half-Greek beauty returned to Dublin this week for filming of the anniversary special.
Salpa, who is engaged to millionaire Joe Penna, is no stranger to Republic of Telly, having taken part in past sketches.
The 28-year-old didn't waste any time catching up with the show team, including Dubliner Jennifer Maguire, who's engaged to actor boyfriend Lau Zamparelli.
Salpa is among a host of models and other celebrities who have agreed to sign up for the sketch show.
Presenter Sile Seoige recently filmed a sketch for the RTE2 show and said she would love to do more comedy.
"I did something with them a few weeks ago and they are a lovely bunch and great craic so I was happy to go back," she told the Herald.
