The Disney Channel's hit show Good Luck Charlie is introducing two lesbian mothers as new characters on the show. In an attempt to diversify the network, producers have revealed that they will be bringing in the homosexual characters, and they worked closely with child development experts during the consultation process.

Miley Cyrus, who found fame on the Disney Channel in Hannah Montana has praised the network's decision, as has Evan Rachel Wood, who is bisexual. "Is this true?," she wrote on Twittr when Wood tweeted her excitement at the news. "I commend Disney for making this step into the light of this generation."
Cyrus has long been a campaigner for gay rights and has even tattooed a symbol of marriage equality on her middle finger. The particular episode is expected to air early next year.
