Danni refuses to comment on a return to X Factor
Dannii Minogue may not be following The X Factor since her departure from the show but she revealed today she is still close to former colleague Louis Walsh.
The star was making time to catch up with the show's judge today after flying in to the UK from Australia.
She was in London to receive an honorary degree from Southampton Solent University for her contribution to the entertainment industry.
Brushing off questions about this year's controversies surrounding the show and its colourful contestants, she said: "I haven't watched this series so all I know is what's in the papers. I haven't been talking to Simon or the other judges."
She added: "I'm meeting Louis later on today. He's the one to ask."
She refused to be drawn on whether she would consider returning as a judge on The X Factor, should Simon Cowell ask her in future. She shrugged and said: "That's a very hypothetical question."
The Australia's Got Talent judge, who was dressed in the traditional doctorate garb teamed with towering red heels, said that it was an "incredibly special day".
"Dannii is a wonderful role model for the youngsters there and she ticks all the boxes. I know her parents will be very proud," he said.
On receiving her award, Minogue addressed the small crowd which was made up of staff and students from the university.
"I can't even breathe at the moment, I'm very honoured. I have an incredible amount of respect for the media industry. For me, it's all I've ever had," she said.
