THE daughter of TV presenter Brian Ormond is the voice of a lead character in a new animated series to be shown on Irish and British screens.

Chloe Ormond (11), from Ballyfermot in Dublin, voices 'Ela the Fox' in the 26-part series 'The Abadas' which starts on Monday on RTEjr, CBeebies, S4C and BBC Alba.

It is the first time the four broadcasters have collaborated on one programme and the series is a co-production between Dublin's Kavaleer Productions and Welsh company Dinamo Productions.

Chloe, a pupil at the Billy Barry stage school, beat off competition from hundreds of other children.

"It was my clear voice that got me the part," she said.

The show airs at 10.55am and 1.55pm on RTEjr.
